Algonac is beautiful little Southeast Michigan town on the banks of the St. Clair River, about fifty miles northeast of Detroit. The St. Clair River connects Lake Huron to the north with Lake Eerie to the south, and a never ending stream of shipping traffic passes by town. French explorers traveled the river in the late 17th century, but pioneers didn't settle here permanently until the early 1800s. Fall starts with the Labor Day Art Fair, and French and Indian War battle Re-enactments take place each September.
