Algonac
Fishing, the Labor Day Art Fair, and the performances by the Algonac Community Theater Group are several inviting ideas for activity while visiting Algonac, Michigan. Otherwise, it’s all about the motion. The sun moves beautifully, higher and higher over the St. Clair River each morning. Tall Ships, cruisers, sailboats, ocean liners, and catamarans all cruise along the half-mile boardwalk. See the soldiers charge ahead during the French and Indian Re-enactments each September. The Antique Car Show and the Annual Classic Car Show display some incredible wheels, and don’t miss the carnival rides in town during the many Independence Day celebrations, or the Annual Boat Parade held at the Algonac Harbour Club. The Club was formerly known as Chris Craft World Headquarters. Chris Craft, one of the leading manufacturers of pleasure boats, was founded in 1922 by Christopher Columbus Smith. The company was originally called Chris Smith & Sons Boat Company. Our innkeepers have a room ready and waiting for you at our local bed and breakfast inns. This is the perfect place to rest up after all those miles covered today!
