| This Macomb County village was once called Hoxie Settlement. In 1831 a group of immigrants traveled from New York and settled here in Romeo, Michigan. Soon, in 1834, the Ridge Road was laid out, and became part of the immigration road from Port Huron to Romeo. It was about this time that mail delivery began in the area. Sure, travelers can still pass through Romeo on their way to another part of the state—or they can choose to settle in for a night or two at an enchanting Bed and Breakfast.
