Williamston
The community of Williamston, near Lansing, Michigan, is located in Ingham County along the Red Cedar River. In 1839 the town was settled by two brothers, O.B. and James Williams, and is now named for them, although it was once called Cedar. The Williamston Depot Museum, Deer Creek Park, McCormick Park, and the dam on the Red Cedar—perfect for kayaking or canoeing--are all popular destinations here in Williamston. There are so many wonderful places for the entire family to visit. There’s the St. Katherine’s Episcopal Chapel, the Nokomis Learning Center, Meridian Historical Village, Harris Nature Center, and the Northfork Farms and Outback. Williamston also boasts an indoor public pool, sure to keep the kids occupied on a rainy day. Golfing and shopping. The hot spots for those are the Brookshire Country Club, the Meridian Sun Golf Club, Antiques Market of Williamston, and the Williamston Flea Market. Only two things are missing to make your busy day complete: the first is a delicious, satisfying meal at the Red Cedar Grill or the BackYard BYB Bar-B-Q, followed by dessert at Fabiano’s Sweet Shoppe or Cappuccino Expresso. The second is a quiet, comfortable, restful night spent at one of our enchanting Bed and Breakfast Inns. You’ll want to tell all your friends and neighbors about the warmth and hospitality experienced there, and everywhere in Williamston.
