Antrim County, Michigan, is home to so many attractive towns, and Elk Rapids, once known as Stevens, MI, is among the most lovely and is also the first town located in the county. It’s said that the new name came from a pair of elk horns which were discovered in the rapids of the Meguzee River. Prior to the white settlers coming, the area was home to the Anishinabek Native Americans.
