| In March, 2005, the village of West Branch, Michigan celebrated it’s centennial anniversary, and on that day became the City of West Branch. The West Branch of the Rifle River is where the city’s name comes from. This lovely Victorian town is located in Ogemaw County. Parking is free, which is only one draw to the downtown shopping. The Victorian buildings and peaceful environment are likely to make you forget what century you are shopping in! Take a rest in Irons Park and visit with the other folks in town. You’ll enjoy browsing over arts & crafts, galleries, frame shops, and specialty clothing shops. Stop for lunch while you’re here—there’s pizza, Chinese, a coffeehouse, and many other delicious choices. When evening arrives, relax and be entertained at the Rau Tavern. Golfing, fishing, photography—whatever your passion, you can be sure that West Branch is the place to renew these skills away from the rush of everyday living. One more fun fact about West Branch—the town sports a brightly painted yellow water tower with a smiley face! How’s that for a warm welcome? |
