At Willow Pond Bed and Breakfast

A getaway to the country, At Willow Pond is nestled in Michigan's heartland on more than 25 wildlife-filled acres. Hike, bike, horseback ride, swim or fish the stocked pond; in winter, snowshoe, x-country ski or cuddle up in front of the fireplace with a good book. Relax on the porch and watch the birds or soak in the hot tub under the stars. Enjoy a sumptuous country breakfast with fresh eggs from our own chickens, an endless cookie jar and bottomless pot of coffee, weekend evening dessert.

Dinner and a movie, but not just anywhere! You're going to the historical Ionia Theater, lovingly restored by the nearby community of Ionia, bringing back to life the lighted marquee, old fashioned wall sconces and velvet seats. Not your typical movie theater! Dinner is at your choice of one of Ionia's charming restaurants. While you're in town, take time to walk the 'red brick road' to check out Ionia's antique shops.

Have you always wanted to learn to make your own bread or a hearty, homemade soup? Come and stay for the weekend and Claire will teach you! We'll select recipes on Friday after you arrive and then Saturday, prepare the soup you choose and start the bread on its first rise. Enjoy the property (ski, snowshoe, hot tub, or take a trip into town) while the soup simmers and bread gets ready to bake. Return for satisfying supper of a rich, hearty soup, salad, and the bread you baked yourself (with enough to take home some of each). Since dinner is so healthy, you'll deserve a decadent dessert too!
