Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast

Welcome to the unparalleled beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, one of National Geographic's great rural regions of America.

Taste the garden bounty of fresh berries and jams, roasted root vegetables, and organic pancakes with homemade maple syrup from the sugar bush. Our focus is on clean living and clean eating. Enjoy crisp cotton sheets, large private baths with claw foot tubs and, of course, cable and WiFi.

Surrounded by 300 acres of hay fields, hardwood forests and cedar lowlands, you can amuse yourself for days. Our guests come to relax for a longer stay or are often travelling through from the Midwest and Canada.

Located centrally between Escanaba and Gladstone, we are just a short drive to the Lake Michigan shores and the finest area dining at the Stonehouse. A two-minute drive will get you to church, the White Birch tavern, Flat Rock country store, and Chenier's Greenhouse (perfect for those springtime plantings).

A ten-minute drive will place you on the shores of Lake Michigan in Escanaba or Gladstone. There you can enjoy the amazing beaches, marina activities and festivals and water activities, including kayaking, kite surfing, sailing, fishing and wind surfing.  Cycle your way through town and along the lake, stopping to enjoy an assortment of unique shops and restaurants, including a brew pub. Rosie's diner (immortalized in Jeff Daniels' play  "Escanaba in da' Moonlight") brings you home again.

Autumn comes alive with the fall colors. Heading east for an hour's drive will bring you to the historic ghost town of Fayette on the Garden Peninsula and nearby Kitch-iti-kipi (big cold water), an unbelievable spring so clear that you can view the deepest depths. Originally known as the Mirror of Heaven by native Americans, its splendor is obvious.

You can head north on Highway 13 and take an hour-long drive through the Hiawatha National Forest to reach the Pictures Rocks National Lakeshore.  Here you can view the lakeshore cliffs and sand beaches by boat, kayak or drive along the coast to enjoy the many scenic stops.

The fun doesn't stop in winter. By day, enjoy downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, ice races, sledding, dog sled races and winter festivals -- all within 10 minutes. By night, our down duvets and fireplaces complete your winter fantasy.
