Kalamazoo House B&B
What a treat! When you choose this popular downtown Kalamazoo inn, you'll be right in the heart of it all--just steps from all the fine restaurants, live theatre, art galleries, festivals, nightspots and eclectic shopping that make this such a vibrant small city. And when you're relaxing in the inn you'll find comforts and amenities that make it "more like a boutique hotel than a regular bed and breakfast", according to a recent guest.
When it comes to historic vs. modern, you really CAN treat yourself to the best of both worlds. While we're located in the South Street Historic District, our grand 1878 Victorian home has been thoroughly updated to provide all the modern essentials you require to stay connected and comfortable---like dependable high-speed WiFi for your laptop or smart phone, flat-screen HDTVs with expanded cable and music channels in every room, and central heat and AC zoned for each individual guestroom.
Which of our nine distinctive guestrooms will you choose? If you're traveling with your special someone, you may want to treat yourself to one of our Premiere Whirlpool Rooms, with snuggly King or Queen bed, oversized whirlpool for two and perhaps a romantic electric fireplace. If you're traveling for business, you might choose a Queen or King room with a large workdesk. Or if you're on a budget, you might select our small Double room which is just fine for one or two. But no matter which room you choose, you'll be treated to freshly ironed luxury linens, fresh flowers, in-room chocolates, and all the essential toiletries you'll need for your stay.
And the treats don't stop there! Guests who are in the house between 5:30-6:30pm daily may choose to join the innkeepers and other guests for an informal social hour on the porch or in the parlor. This is a good time to look over menus for nearby restaurants, share tips, and make plans for your evening or the next day. Many guests tell us the snacks and conversation are a highlight of their visit! And then later when you return back to the inn, you'll find a plate of chocolate chip cookies waiting for you. Grab some milk from the guest refrigerator or make a cup of tea, and you'll have the perfect bedtime snack.
In the morning, breakfast is the ultimate treat. Our breakfast philosophy is CHOICE, and we allow our guests to choose when and what to eat, and with whom. As a guest of the Kalamazoo House, you'll eat breakfast on your schedule rather than ours. Preferred breakfast time is from 8-10 am, but early breakfast is always available if scheduled with the innkeeper the night before. You'll select from 5 or 6 choices on our ever-changing breakfast menu----some of our most popular recent entrees are Cheesy Eggs Benedict, Crustless Spinach-Feta Quiche, Steelcut Oats with Michigan Cherries, Terry's Southern Comfort, and our house specialty Banana Nut Crunch French Toast. And unless you make the choice to sit with other guests, your party will have your own table in our Breakfast Room or our Parlor. All breakfasts begin with a generous fruit course along with muffin or scone, and are accompanied by juices and a bottomless cup of fresh coffee or tea.
Come stay in downtown Kalamazoo and see why Trip Advisor ranks us among the top 3 bed and breakfasts in Michigan! Follow the link to our website for more detailed information about our inn, our rooms and our amenities, and check out the Downtown Kalamazoo page for links to restaurants, entertainment options, and sightseeing activities.
Experience Kalamazoo, where we like to say "You'll Be Back ---We Promise!"

This the time to show your “special someone” how you feel by making plans to renew, relax and reconnect! Imagine finding roses, chocolates, and a bottle of bubbly waiting for you when you arrive. (If you’ve reserved one of our Premiere Whirlpool rooms, you can even enjoy the treats in the tub as you begin to unwind.) Then off to dinner at one of downtown Kalamazoo's many fine restaurants where you can really enjoy each other's company over a delicious meal. After a night on the town, stroll hand-in-hand back to the inn to find your room softly lit and a sprinkling of silk rose petals decorating your turned-down bed. Wake on your own schedule to enjoy a leisurely cooked-to-order breakfast.
