The friendly, growing Lake Huron resort town of Lexington sure was blessed the day that a local entrepreneur started opening businesses on what is called the Smackwater Block. In addition to the Lexington Music Theatre (lexmtc.com), the block has two restaurants, an English pub, and a marketplace that's great for out-of-the-ordinary wines, beer and gifts. Acts at LexMTC include headliners like Eddie Money, Jeff Daniels and Raul Malo, comedy acts like Gallagher, and acts that pay tribute to great performers like Michael Jackson and the Beatles. Adventure Inn, nine miles south of Lex, is the only area B&B on Lake Huron. We'll pull strings to score you some great seats at LexMTC.

Historic Howmet Playhouse in downtown Whitehall fills the bill for entertainment options. In almost constant operation since opening in 1916, the Howmet Playhouse (www.howmetplayhouse.org) is the center for the White Lake area arts events hosting a variety of theater productions, classic movie night, and musical groups throughout the fall and spring season and a summer fine arts festival. Book "A Night at the Theater" package at White Swan Inn and experience a little night magic!

Vitosha Guest Haus' location is in walkable proximity to University of Michigan classrooms, student eateries and bars, and less than a 7-minute ride to Main Street. The major campus concert venues (Power Center, Hill and Rackham Auditoriums, Sylvio's Pizza, Michigan Theatre) are less than a 15 minute stroll.
For restaurants, a lovely Italian venue is Paesano's, just up from Whole Foods right on Washtenaw. Asian food is minutes away on South University, with everything from Japanese Sadako to bee-bim-bop, and also Vietnamese.

You could stay in to learn tango in Pinocchio Theatre, as weekly milongas are hosted with practicas beforehand; just watch with a glass of wine from the Hall loft!

Larger venues bringing in big name acts like Cirque du Soleil, LeAnn Rimes, Kid Rock and others is The Dow Event Center in Saginaw and the Midland Center for the Performing Arts in Midland. The river is ready for fishing or just taking a leisurely nature walk. Theater groups in our area are often performing at various locations. For evening entertainment the Sportsman's Bar offers a good choice of excellent food & monthly comedic talent. The River Stop Cafe has delicious coffee and an open Mike night on Thursdays. The River Stop Saloon has many daily & weekly specials, live music, and contests.River City Pizza has scrabble tournaments on Tuesdays. Most activities within walking distance.
