The North Country National Scenic Trail is destined to be the longest off-road hiking trail in the United States. There is fantastic cross country skiing near St. Ignace, as in the rest of Michigan. Yet the Silver Mountain Ski Area and Tubing Hill also has three runs for downhill skiing and snowboarding. It has an additional area for the super fun sport of snow tubing, which everyone should try at least once.
