You may know Michigan like the back of your hand. A long time resident knows where they like to ski in the winter, swim in the summer and shop for antiques year-round. If this is you – have you ever considered writing travel guides? If not, let our trip planner help you explore the unique regions and communities of Michigan.

Delve into the still untamed wilderness of the Upper Peninsula – a destination for outdoor recreation lovers. In the wintertime the Peninsula becomes a white wonderland for skiers to enjoy – both downhill and cross country skiers will find ample space to enjoy the powder. There are several downhill ski resorts and lots of space for cross country skiers to see winter wonders like ice caves and frozen waterfalls. Get out into the lake and discover the charm of Isle Royal or Mackinac Island. The Upper Peninsula has wild wonders that you can enjoy while returning to the comfort of a MI bed and breakfast at the end of the day.

Northwest Michigan can be characterized by small communities and lots of sandy coastline. Comet to a Northern Michigan bed and breakfast for warm hospitality and thoughtful lodging.  Get out in nature at Sleeping Bear Dunes or Manitou Island, or head to the city for a little glitz. Traverse City is known for excellent golfing and dining. Look forward to lots of local wines being served. Plan ahead and come for a regional festival, many having to do with seasonal crops, such as grape harvests, mushrooms and cherries.
Just to the east, look forward to having another great Michigan bed and breakfast stay while visiting the sunrise coast. Most innkeepers are more than happy to provide early morning coffee, which you will probably want to have in your hands for at least one stunning sunrise over Lake Huron. Continue that early start with a trip to one of many greens at Gaylord, the golf mecca of the midwest. If biking or hiking is your thing, there are many multi-use trails in the area that can guide you from one bed and breakfast to another.

Southwest Michigan will be a delight for anyone who enjoys the comfort of rural settings and big, small-town fun. Enjoy the delicious fruits and veggies produced in this area if you travel in the summer and fall, and visit local micro-breweries in Grand Rapids. Bed and breakfast innkeepers will delight you by guiding you to the best of what their region offers.

Get to the heart of the population center by visiting  Southest Michigan and the Detroit metro area. Or take a day trip to the state capitol of Lansing, where wine tasting is nearby and alluring Michigan bed and breakfasts dot the region. Ann Arbor is a blossoming arts community, and Ypsilanti is soaked in historic reverence. The automotive heritage collection is a must-see for any car aficionado.
